  Not particularly my type of place, but still I was underwhelmed. Food has too much garlic. Pleasant atmosphere though, and the staff are good.

  Good food and service. Had a pizza and the burger. Pizza was decent and plentiful for the price. The burger was excellent. Will try a main dish next time. Good atmosphere. Update: changed from 4 to 5 stars after eating dinner here. Superb service, great wine selection and recommendations, and main dishes were all delicious.

  Wonderful. Italian / American food. Everything is super fresh and extremely tasty. The three of us (a child and two adults) enjoyed our meal very much. we had the following - Delmonico (which is a superb Rib-eye steak, the best I ever had. The fat and the meat mixed together smoothly and it was superbly prepared). We also had the eggplant appetizer (excellent with a mix of spicy and sweet in the sauce) and the four cheese pizza (excellent too but unlike the others you can find such quality elsewhere). The Fluke was also excellent (but the rib-eye and eggplant are my recommendations for a must have). Service was excellent, to the degree we never even needed to pour water into our glasses (although a water bottle was provided to us). They are thoughtful as well, and accommodating of special requests. Our toddler got a shatter proof glass, with cover on the top so it does not pour, and with a ready straw. I met both the chef and the owner and learned some of the reasons for the quality - they prepare some of the meat in the place, and the chef and owner are present in the restaurant every day. Way to go! I'll be back soon.
  
  To summarize - this restaurant can compete with all but very, very few top end Chicago restaurants (and the rib-eye can compete with anyone), but there is easy parking and prices are much lower... worth a little detour!

  Ballaro sumed up in one word: FANTASTIC. Chef Mark and the entire staff made our special night unforgettable! The service was superb and the food was delicious! Give Ballaro a try, you will not be disappointed!
